Thousands of Iraqi demonstrators have protested in Baghdad against a proposed deal allowing US forces to stay in Iraq until the end of 2011.

Baghdad shaken by series of bombs ... the Iraqi cabinet on Sunday, requires US troops to leave cities and towns by the end of June 2009 and to withdraw completely by the end of 2011. Parliament is to vote on it next week.
